LowCVP’s 2018 "Moving North" Conference is held in association with the Mayor of Greater Manchester, the Northern Automotive Alliance and Transport for Greater Manchester. It is supported by Manchester Metropolitan University.
The event, opening with a keynote address by the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, will focus on the challenge of cutting carbon emissions and air pollution and seizing the business opportunities for automotive and fuel supply companies in the Northern Powerhouse that are being stimulated by the low carbon shift.
A solution-oriented day exploring how to achieve a carbon-free Scotland. Speakers include leading figures from the transport and energy sectors like Paul Jordan (Energy Systems Catapult), Gavin Templeton (Green Investment Bank), Jeremy Oppenheim (SystemIQ) and Claire Mack (Scottish Renewables).
The conference is an opportunity to discuss with network members, peers, partners and the Scottish Government where public sector action can enable broader and deeper impacts in line with national ambitions, how to initiate and align collaborative action with partners and key stakeholders, what is needed to mobilise strong public sector leadership that delivers action on climate change and sustainability and stimulates purposeful engagement on this pressing agenda across Scotland.
In partnership with the Royal Town Planning Institute, the Carplus Bikeplus Scottish Shared Transport Conference will bring together expert speakers to explore Scotland's shared transport landscape, and discuss the innovative approaches being considered to encourage a future with improved shared mobility at its core.
