<p><strong><em>Duties and Responsibilities</em></strong>: This Lecturer position provides a unique opportunity to participate in the development of the Doctoral Training Centre (DTC) in Energy and the Build Environment, in shaping postgraduate education across UCL, and in the expansion of the UCL Energy Institute.</p>
<p>The Lecturer will be responsible for the development and management of the DTC in Energy Demand Reduction and the Built Environment. The post holder will also be expected to work with the eight other UCL Centres for Doctoral Training as well as with other cross faculty initiatives such as UCL&#8217;s Grand Challenges.</p>
<p>A determination to help build the infrastructure of research is essential in order to carry forward the vision and goals of the DTC and to help achieve the UK&#8217;s targets for carbon reduction.</p>
<p>The post is initially funded for four years.</p>
<p>Key Requirements: The successful candidate is someone with a keen interest in multi-disciplinary research, proven ability to initiate, implement and complete research to a high standard, and a track record of academic publishing in the area of energy and buildings. A proven track record in PhD supervision and course development, ideally at the MSc/MRes level would be a significant advantage.</p>

The appointee for the Senior Research Associate position should have a PhD in a quantitative field and have a proven record of successful publication and completion of research projects in the field of domestic energy modelling.</p>

<p>We are looking to recruit an environmental economist to join our core in-house team (central London office) as a researcher. You will work in all of the four areas above, as part of a team and individually, as well as contributing to the development of the company. Your role will support the work of our consultants and associates, involving research for projects, statistical analysis and report writing.</p>
<p>We are looking for strong numerical, analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to express complex ideas simply and logically. You will be a highly motivated team player, flexible and willing to take responsibility. You must have interest in and knowledge of environmental issues and policy in the UK and beyond. Previous experience is desirable but not necessary.</p>
<p>Candidates must have a degree in economics. A post-graduate degree (or similar experience) in environmental economics (or related subject) would also be advantageous for fulfilling the requirements of the role.</p>

This post is a unique opportunity to take a leading role in a novel and exciting initiative on sustainable lifestyles reporting directly to UK policy-makers.</p>
<p>The Research Co-ordinator will provide direct support to Professor Jackson, Director of the newly-formed Sustainable Lifestyles Research Group (SLRG). Combining day-to-day research coordination with internal and external liaison activities, s/he will also develop and conduct a key research project exploring how evidence is provided to and used by government. In addition, s/he will provide vital input to a major longitudinal qualitative household study.</p>
<p>Funded by DEFRA, ESRC and the Scottish Government, the SLRG is an innovative 3 year project which aims to achieve new and relevant understandings of the processes which lead to changes in people’s behaviours and practices and to provide advice on realistic strategies to encourage more sustainable lifestyles.</p>
<p>The post will be based in the Centre for Environmental Strategy, an internationally-acclaimed centre of excellence on sustainable development. It takes a multi-disciplinary approach to the analysis of sustainable systems, to develop action-oriented, policy-relevant responses to long-term environmental and social issues. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This is a fixed term post for three years. You will be responsible for working full-time on a three year funded project on ‘Urban Technology Foresight’. The programme of research is funded by EPSRC, as part of the Re-Engineering the City 2020-2050 (RETROFIT 2050) Sustainable Urban Environment research programme, which brings together Cardiff University, Salford University, Cambridge University and Oxford Brookes University. The Urban Technology Foresight Work Package, which is based in the Oxford Institute for Sustainable Development (OISD) within the School of the Built Environment at Oxford Brookes University, will analyse and examine emerging and prospective technologies with the potential to underpin the long term transition to a sustainable urban future. Through interaction between scientific experts, practitioners and policy users, the research will identify and characterise prospective disruptive technologies and systems innovations, and provide long-term guiding visions and technology-based roadmaps for urban retrofitting.</p>
<p><strong>Starting salary:</strong> £28,138 rising annually to £30,748<br />
